The Real Roman People

Nestled along one side of the Tiber river, the neighbourhood of Testaccio was one of Rome’s traditional working class neighborhoods centered around an industry of slaughterhouses and butchers. These slaughterhouses became abandoned during poor economic times until the city launched an initiative to revitalize them. In the process of revitalisation, the neighbourhood has retained it’s burly, hard-at-work look, while accommodating a rising youth culture. Beside the rowdy nightclub district, Rome’s age-old culinary traditions are found in cramped restaurants and trattorias. Here you can find the real roman people.
