Alessandra Baldareschi
Alessandra Baldareschi is an italian product designer. She earned her master’s degree in Industrial Design at the Domus Academy in the Netherlands, and spent a year in Japan on scholarship. Upon her return to Italy, she began her own studio and designed pieces for various brands. Her objects are unique, as they try to evoke memories reminiscent of the past and create sensations of déja-vu often by referencing familiar forms or cultural icons. Her work has been displayed in various international design exhibitions such as, the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the Biennial of Saint Etienne in Amsterdam, the Seoul design festival in South Korea, and the Moss gallery in New York.
"I like to create empathy between objects and people. I like to work with the warm sensation that comes from a sense of familiarity."
"An important concept for me, when I start a project, is to consider the process as an opportunity to surprise myself."
